MOVIE REVIEW: Crooklyn (made in 1994), is a movie semi-based on director/producer Spike Lee's childhood growing up in Brooklyn, NY in the 1970s. The main focus of the movie is seen through the eyes of a nine year old girl named Troy Carmichael. In her world, it is not easy growing up in a household with three brothers and being the only girl. Troy and her family are put through many obstacles but always remember how important it is to stick together as a family.
One, two, three... One, two, three cheers for Spike Lee for making such a fantastic movie. If you like wholesome family movies that show how people come together in bad situations, then this movie is for you. Lee gives his audience a feel for what his childhood was like in community full of diversity and friendship, but with his own twist with a mixture of comedy and drama. Enjoy a clip of the movie...
