mapping P L A C E  is a project created in collaboration by R. Crist and
D. Hoffman with the purpose of exploring “place” in a cultural context.  Geographically, the series of works is contained to the Southern portion of the United States as a way to isolate and emphasize documenting the area’s process of deindustrialization and globalization. 

mapping P L A C E  -the site- is a means to contain all the various
works within the series and is currently maintained by R. Crist.
